Talking Newspaper

The Talking Newspaper is recorded every week by four teams of volunteers.

The recordings are then duplicated onto a USB and posted out through the “Articles for the Blind” free postage service.  The Talking Newspaper is only available to people who are blind or have a vision loss.

There is a £10 annual subscription that provides funding to maintain the service. Payment can be made by cheque or in person at the Society’s office. Please do not send cash through the post.

The USB can be used with radios, televisions, computers and other media devices.  The Talking Newspaper service can provide a basic player if this is requested at the time of joining and we will also provide a demonstration of how to use it in your own home.

The player remains your property and is your responsibility to maintain it, but we would appreciate it’s return should you terminate your subscription.

Should you want to join the Talking Newspaper and Magazine, please contact us by telephone 01254 698683 and we will post a joining form to you. When you complete the form post it back to us at –  Blackburn and District Blind Society, Suite 4 – Unit A, NJK House, Shadsworth Gateway Estate, Haslingden Road, Blackburn, BB1 2EE.
