Introducing the Geddes Glide Reader – An Effective Low Cost Reading Aid
The Geddes Glide Reader enlarges print, pictures and objects held under it using a high quality colour camera.
The image is then displayed on your television screen.
You can also use it on the stand to study objects underneath, change hearing aid batteries, apply nail varnish and many other things.
The reader was designed by Les Geddes, a retired engineer, to help his wife when her sight was impaired by Macular Degeneration. This simple but effective low cost reader is made by a team of unpaid volunteers who all have someone close to them with a sight loss.
You can try the reader for a week to see if it helps you, if it doesn’t you can return it free of charge. The cost is £80 to make the reader, so a donation of £80 is requested if you keep it. Should you wish to try the reader contact the blind society. Unfortunately we only have one available and there will be no more made.
