You can adjust the magnification to your needs

You can also use it on the stand to study objects underneath, change hearing aid batteries, apply nail varnish and many other things

The reader was designed by Les Geddes, a retired engineer, to help his wife when her sight was impaired by Macular Degeneration. This simple but effective low cost reader is made by a team of unpaid volunteers who all have someone close to them with sight problems

You can try the reader for a week to see if it helps you, if it doesn’t you can return it free of charge. The cost is £80 to make the reader, so a donation of £80 is requested if you keep it.

Should you wish to try the reader contact the blind society who will supply the contact details, or if you wish the blind society to order one, deliver and set it up in your home there is a small charge of £8 to cover cost
