Vision Loss Support (VLS) – the service our society offers to people experiencing sight loss and who may need advice, equipment or a consultation, is growing in popularity. To cover the expense our volunteers incur, the society is introducing a small charge of £5 per appointment made with our Liaison Officer. This is only applicable for appointments in the client’s home or place of residence. The charge is new and started in January 2016 and hopefully will go some way towards covering travel expenses so our volunteers are not out-of-pocket.
The Society does not receive any Government or Council funding and so is dependent on donations, collections and legacies to maintain its work in supporting local blind and visually impaired people.
